Wow, I can’t believe the Holidays are already here. They seem to come quicker with each year, especially when there is politics in the air. Now that we can settle in, settle for, settle up with the Political Madness ... perhaps its time to look within. Many at this time are missing loved ones who have passed away throughout the year. Grief makes it difficult to smile - sometimes. Perhaps there is change in the air for you - change of careers, lifestyles or an unsettled sense of being. Is your mind on things that need to be done? As a Nonprofit, you are positioned to make a difference, but are you stifled by the lack of donations? At the end of the year, each of us reflect on the past 12 months and looks forward with new plans to do better.
With the activities of the Holidays, we are often faced with demands on our time and resources. Preparing for Holiday events can be somewhat overwhelming - especially when resources are few. It is so important that we take the time to not only reflect, but to strategize for the next year of activities. Regardless of what you think of the outcome - the reality is that the next 12 months will look nothing like the past 12. What will you need to do to prepare?
New ventures, old problems or existing issues must be acknowledged - if we are to be the best for ourselves and loved ones. Sticking your head in the sand will not eliminate the danger; but rather give ‘danger’ an edge on you. Instead of avoiding the obvious, plan for the inevitable in life. Use whatever enhancements that allow you to position for the new day. As we go into the next 12 months of un/certainty, let us walk squarely with eyes open and heart positioned to take care of one another. After all - who else do we have? Oh yea, Merry Christmas!
